By becoming a member of the Blinded Veterans Association, you are using your voice to join thousands of visually impaired veterans in advocating for policies and issues relating to vision loss.

The greater our number of veterans, the louder and stronger our voice! Join!

​​​​​​Eligibility - All honorably discharged military veterans experiencing legal blindness are encouraged to join. The reason for vision loss or length of time since discharge does not matter.

1) - Fill out the application on line and print the form. or download a Microsoft Word version which you can edit your information into.

2) - Include a copy of your DD214, a letter from your physician stating you are legally blind, and documentation of service-connection, if appropriate.

3) - Choose amount of dues according to age and send credit card information with application through the U.S. postal service.

Classifications of BVA Membership:



Dues: One-time payment - based on age at the time of application.

If you are a blinded veteran:

66 years old and older:     $50.00 
61 years - 65 years:         $63.00
55 years - 60 years:         $75.00
45 years - 54 years:         $88.00
44 years old or younger:  $100.00

Another option:

You can also pay for your Life Membership through our installment plan, with an initial $25 payment, paying the remaining balance within two (2) years.


Membership paid for 365 days (one calendar year) and is payable on October 1st, annually. The amount due for annual membership is $15.00 per year.


B.V.A. offers free Life Membership for any blinded veteran that served during World War II (December 7, 1941- December 31, 1946).

To qualify for Honorary Membership, the B.V.A. requires that you submit a World War II Discharge Document, such as a DD214, Separation Certificate, or V.A. rating decision documenting your service dates and legal blindness.

Veterans whose vision loss is not service-connected will be listed as Associate Life Members or Associate Annual Members.

The benefits and opportunities remain the same for service-connected or non-service-connected veterans.
